About
Tanya Goehring is an Editorial, Commercial and Advertising Photographer based in Vancouver, BC. She is passionate about environmental portraiture and character-driven stories.
Tanya’s work has received numerous industry awards, including being named one of Applied Art’s Young Blood Talents, New Talent & Photography Merit titles from the Creative Quarterly Journal of Arts and Design and the 2017 & 2014 Applied Arts Photography Award from Applied Arts, for which she was featured on the cover.
Tanya is known for her approachable and down-to-earth manner when shooting, and has been told she has the ability to put even the most camera-shy subjects at ease. But when it comes to the final result, she’s admittedly very technically driven, and strives to produce images with a strong, distinct composition and with careful attention to detail.
Tanya is on the Board of Directors for the Vancouver Chapter of CAPIC (The Canadian Association of Professional Image Creators) as the VP of Programming and is the President of VMVS (The Vancouver Music Video Society).
When she’s not shooting or working on images, she’s filming music videos or performing live with her life partner, Trevor, as part of their techno audiovisual project The Automatic Message. Their passion for music and art led to them founding and curating Render: The Vancouver International Music Video Festival that happens annually in November at the Vancity Theatre.
